PGA of America and PGA REACH Foundation Initiatives Help the Hispanic Community

Briana

The PGA of America and PGA REACH, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation for the PGA, values the collaborative partnerships it has established with the Hispanic community. The most recent and notable initiatives include a title sponsorship for the Latina Golfers Association (LGA) 10th Anniversary Celebration, recruiting diverse talent for the PGA WORKS Fellowship, and The Jopwell PGA Collection—a partnership with Jopwell to diversify its workforce and produce content that celebrates the representation of Latinx, Black, and Native Americans in golf. The LGA seeks to eliminate the intimidation factor surrounding the game of golf; a mission closely aligns with the PGA of America’s efforts to bring diversity to the game and the industry. The PGA WORKS Fellowship aspires to be the most valuable entry-level employment opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to garner golf industry experience. Fernando Molina, a Guatemala native, is the first PGA WORKS Fellow in the Gateway PGA Section.

The PGA of America recognizes that it will be defined by how its commitment to diversity and inclusion resonates throughout its programs and practices. This commitment is mission critical to the health and relevance of the association’s business and the game overall. For more information, visit PGAImpact.org and PGAREACH.org.
