MONICA GIL JOINS NBCUNIVERSAL TELEMUNDO ENTERPRISES

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises recently named Monica Gil to the newly created position of executive vice president of Corporate Affairs. In this new role, she will have oversight of the company’s corporate communications, government relations, and community relations efforts. Based in Miami, Gil will report directly toCesar Conde, chairman, NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.“We are excited to have Monica join our team,” said Conde.“She brings a wealth of experience across community, public affairs, and strategic insights in the media industry. We look forward to having her contribute to the continued growth ofNBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.”Most recently, Gil was senior vice president and general manager of Multicultural Growth and Strategy at Nielsen.Before joining Nielsen, Gil served as a senior member of Antonio Villaraigosa’s campaign team. She also served as press secretary for the Speaker of California State Assembly. Early in her career she was director of PublicAffairs and Community Outreach for KVEA Telemundo 52 inLos Angeles.Gil was named a “Women Making a Difference” by LosAngeles Business Journal and was inducted into theHispanic Scholarship Hall of Fame in 2012. She currently serves on the national board of directors for Girls ScoutsUSA and is a member of the Latino Advisory Panel to theKennedy Center.
